<br />CALIFORNIA: Sacramento Valley Basin Study <br /> <br />A. Sacramento County Watershed Area Study <br /> <br />The final report was published in June 1984. It provides the <br />Sloughouse, Florin and Lower Cosumnes Resource Conservation <br />Districts (RCDs) with alternative irrigation water distribution <br />systems from the USBR Folsom South Canal, It will allow the <br />RCDs' to set priorities for development of appropriate dis- <br />tribution routes, types of delivery systems, future water needs, <br />and selection of implementation programs including PL-566. <br /> <br />B. Foothill County IWM <br /> <br />The El Dorado Unit was published in January 1984. The study <br />focused on irrigation water management and priorities for <br />rehabilitating 130 year-old irrigation-domestic supply canals <br />previously used in the gold mining days. Funds for two CAT <br />measures for gullied areas are actively being sought after <br />under the RC&D program. Implementation funds for one RC&D <br />irrigation measure are being considered for an application <br />next year. <br /> <br />C, Pit Ri ver IWM <br /> <br />Field evaluations of cost and irrigation effectiveness of <br />side roll pivot sprinkler systems and a border irrigation <br />system on hay and alfalfa have been completed for the 1982 <br />and 1983 irrigation seasons. Comments are being incorporated <br />into a fi na 1 report in September 1984. <br /> <br />California Special Studies' <br /> <br />A, Strawberry Hi 11 s Watershed Area Study <br /> <br />Evaluations of conservation practices for control of erosion <br />and sediment from strawberry production has been completed, <br />A main report and technical appendix are at GPO for final <br />distribution in September 1984, The Technical Report provides <br />guidelines to a "target area" team for installing conservation <br />practices in a unique area. <br /> <br />B. Redwood Empire TarClet Area - Watershed Area Study <br /> <br />Work is progressing on this three-part study, Field surveys <br />for data, stream profiles and available economic data have been <br />completed by RCD and field office personnel. Alternative plan <br />and evaluation phases are underway. <br /> <br />\Y2 <br />
