Weather Bureau plans for Fiscal Year 1963 are based on continuation of
existing services and improvement through research and anaqsis.
Special attention .rill be given to utilization of observations from
space instruments and adjusting or :Increasing surface observations to
conform to current and future needs. .

Due to the methods of statistical compilation, it has not been possible
to obtain an exact mileage of Interstate Highways which are open to
traffic in the l1issouri Basin. Ho.lever, due to the extensiveness of
the Basin, it may be said that most of the constructed mileage is
located therein.. The table indicates that about 26 percent of the
total Interstate system in the Basin States is open to traffic and an
additional 10 percerit is under construction.
