Prior to screening, the results of the problem- <br />identification activity will be verified and consolidated with the results of the nationwide <br />analysis. The regional sponsor will document differences, if any, between the projections <br />and underlying assumptions developed in the nationwide analysis for its region and those <br />used to establish the State-regional objectives and desires. As appropriate, WRC will <br />technically modify the nationwide assumptions prior to proceeding with Activity Three. <br /> <br />,~~ <br /> <br />Preimplementation tasks include the establishment of criteria for and the selection <br />of the multidisciplinary team, the development of guidelines for defining State-regional <br />objectives and desires, and the process for screening the identified problems. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Activity Three: Development of Information Describing Selected Problems (October <br />1975-March 1976) This activity provides for development of detailed information for the <br />problems selected in Activity Two. This information will quantify the problems and will <br />describe, consistent with the WRC "Principles and Standards," the economic, environ- <br />mental, and social effects associated with selected problems for the years 1975. 1985, and <br />2000. Effects will be described for the State-regional and the modified nationwide sets <br />of assumptions. Problems and their associated effects will be described for the geographic <br />area over which the problem exists, and problems which extend beyond the boundaries of <br />an ASA will be described relative to each ASA affected as well as to the total area. <br /> <br />Preimplementation tasks include the selection of the specific components referred to <br />in the "Principles and Standards" which will be used to describe problems, and the devel- <br />opment of guidelines to effect a nationally consistent fomlat for documenting the infonna- <br />lion. <br /> <br />Activity Four: Selectioll of State-Regional Priorities. Conclusions, and Recommcnda- <br />tions, and Preparation of the State-Rcgional Report. (April 1976-June 1976) This activity <br />provides for the regional sponsor, using a multidisciplinary team, to establish the State- <br />regional priorities for resolving problems and preparing level B plans, to develop <br />recommendations and conclusions, and to prepare the State-regional ass.ssment report. <br />The priorities will be based upon the objectives and desires identified in Activity Two and <br />will be classified as either immediate or future problems as previously defined. The report <br />will be a concise statement of the results of State-regional involvement in the national <br />assessment, and will stress conclusions and recommendations, including priorities and <br />supporting narrative. <br /> <br />~. <br /> <br />Preimplementation tasks involve the design of procedures for establishing State- <br />regional priorities and the preparation of an outline and appropriate guidelines for pre- <br />paring the regional report. <br /> <br />,), <br /> <br />Phase III <br /> <br />Activity One: Rcview of Draft National Report. (April 1977-June 1977) The <br />regional sponsor will review the draft national assessment report and provide comments to <br />WRC on the national conclUSIons and recommendations sections.
