\- ':J'~ ~

. Altemative Inoels ojflood plain regulation (CE and USDA) Annual upstream and
downstream flood damages will be estimated for 1985 and 2000 under the
alternative assumptions of (a) extrapolation of current trends in flood plain
regulation beyond 1975, and (b) the maximum practicable level of Ilood plain
regulation. Some effects on economic activity of increased flood plain regulation
will also be described.

,(.

Agency Responsible: Indicated in description above.

.'

Activity Two: Vall/metric Adequacy Analysis on Variations. (April 1975). Volu-
metric adequacy analyses (as described in Phase II, Activity One) will be developed for the
alternative water use projections derived in Activity One of this phase and compared with
the volumetric adequacy analysis based on central-case assumptions.

Agency Responsible: WRC staff.

Activitv Three: Impact Analysis on Variations. (May 1975) The major economic,
social, and environmental impacts of the variations from central-case conditions will be
analyzed. As it is not possible to analyze all of the primary and secondary impacts of each
variation, a list of primary impact variables for each variation from central-case conditions
has been selected for analysis. The variables on which impacts will be evaluated for each
variation from central-case conditions are identified below together with the agency primarily
responsible for each variation. Other items such as water quality will be considered in each
variation to the extent that information is available.

Variation frolll central case

I.
