SYNOPSIS

project would in no way interfere with other potential projects for
utilization of. the water resources of the Colorado River Basin.

Land Resources

Project water could be supplied to the 40, 600 acres of land presently
irrigated: 1l. few of these lands are poorly adapted to cultivation, how-
ever, and it may be found advisable to shift their water supply to some
better class lands lying idle in adjacent areas. These better class lands
also could be supplied project water through existing canals, Transfer
of. water in this manner would probably require an amendment. of Wyoming law.

Project lands are fertile and.suitable for sustained production of
locally adapted crops under irrigation farming. In many plaoes loose
rock in the surface soils restricts cultivation, but the lands are well
adapted to the production ofgra!lses for hay or pasture. .The soils vary
greatly in texture , but they are predominantly loam. . They are for the
most part permeable, y<;>t have a good. water~holding. capacity.. Salines
occur in a few areas of.pooi' drainage. Topographically most of the area
i.s favorable for irrigation..

Project Works and Estimated Gosts
