5.0 SUBTEAM: TECHNICAL/ENGINEERING (Legal)
5.1 JUNE EVENTS

Met with King-Wilkinson representatives who agreed to investigate
alternative saline water cooling towers.

Information provided to International Engineering Company
for use in estimating costs for test loop and Stages I and II.

Conferred with Stearns-Roger on their preliminary design
of a dry flue gas desulfurization system to attain 70-75
percent removal of CO from stack emissions. It appears
that AQUATRAIN could ~eliver needed trona and nahcolite
at lower cost.

5.2 ANTICIPATED JULY EVENTS

Finish subteam's portion of preliminary project report.
Complete subteam's input to PROPLAN.
Assemble more information on fine coal cleaning processes.
Work with International Engineering Company on test loop and
Stages I and II engineering.

Identify alternative sources of CO2.

5.3 ANTICIPATED AUGUST EVENTS

Begin detailed work on test loop and Stage I engineering.

Possible meeting with ESU, Inc., to learn of their management
system to reduce project costs.

5.4 CURRENT PROBLEMS

Determining basic cleaning potential of western coal.

Determining how to schedule and track batches of commodities
from numerous sources in varying amounts to delivery points in
an integrated pipeline system.
