Stringham asked if power would be available from Echo Park by 1956. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson answered that such pmver would be available 5 or 6 years after <br />the commencement of construction. <br /> <br />Mr. Riter exptessed gratification at the passing of the resolution and re_ <br />marked that the proQlem was not new to the Park Service, since plans had been con- <br />sidered to build Ecbo Park as part of the war effort. <br /> <br />A question was asked as to the place of irrigation in this system of reser- <br />voirs. . <br /> <br />Mr. Larson anSwered that the plan is a vehicle to make irrigation possible. <br /> <br />Mr. Tip~.~ extllained that the principal irrigation will be above these re- <br />servoirs and pewter tevenues therefrom will make possible some otherwise infeasible <br />projects. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />A question was asked regarding the amount of irrigation which will be made <br />possible by Cross ~Quntain reservoir. <br /> <br />l~. Riter an~ered that there are about 80,000 acres irrigable on Dead Man <br />BenCh in Colorado and Utah, which could possibly be served by that reservoir. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Judge Stone st~ted that comments or suggestions could be sent to the Colo- <br />rado ~ater Conserva~ion Board at any time before the Board had its meeting regard- <br />ing the state's comments on the interim report. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned shortly after noon. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />i <br /> <br /><, ,-:d.- <br />
