Corps of <br />Engineers <br /> <br />Wiggins, Colo. <br /> <br />Bear Creek Dam & Lake <br /> <br />Flood Prevention Proqram <br /> <br />The Board has a program of direct financial assis- <br />tance up to, but not exceeding, 25 percent of the total local cost <br />of the construction cost of flood prevention works. Projects <br />qualifying under this program usually are sponsored by organizations <br />other than the Board. In FY 1974 the Board provided financial <br />assistance for flood prevention and improvement projects on Boulder <br />Creek and Little Dry Creek, both of which were sponsored by the <br />Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, headquarted in Denver. <br /> <br />Flood Insurance <br /> <br />The Board is the state coordinating agency for the <br />National Insurance Program and is charged with the responsibility <br />of assisting communities and counties in qualifying for flood <br />insurance. <br /> <br />Interstate Compacts <br /> <br />Special studies were conducted relating to the <br />Arkansas River Compact, the Rio Grand Compact, and the Costilla <br />Creek Compact. These studies were designed to evaluate the impacts <br />of compact operation on Colorado water users. In addition, adminis- <br />trative functions, i.e., preparation and distribution of annual <br />reports. minutes, etc., were performed for the Arkansas River <br />Compact Commission. <br /> <br />3. Coordination Activities <br /> <br />Staff members of the Board served as members of, and <br />cooperated with, the Pacific Southwest Inter-Agency Committee (PSIAC), <br />the Arkansas-White-Red Basins Inter-Agency (AWRBIAC), the Missouri <br />
