P1anninq Activities <br /> <br />Advanced Planning studies under way in FY 1974 by the <br />Bureau of Reclamation on authorized projects include the following: <br /> <br />a. Dallas Creek Proiect - Major work in FY 1974 <br />was concentrated on the completion of the project's Definite Plan, <br />or Preconstruction, Report and the Draf~ Environmental statement. <br />Completion date for the Definite Plan Report is now scheduled for <br />October 1974, and completion date for the Draft Environmental <br />statement is scheduled for near the end of 1974. A special report <br />entitled "Dallas Creek Project, Colorado, Salinity Effects on <br />Colorado River" was completed. Permission was granted by the <br />commissioner of Reclamation to initiate contract negotiations with <br />the Tri-county Water Conservancy District for project repayment. <br />A draft contract has been completed and is now under review. <br /> <br />b. West Divide Proiect - Studies have been made to <br />determine the salinity effect on the Colorado River that would <br />result from the operation of the West Divide Project. A draft of <br />the special report entitled "West Divide Project, Colorado, Salinity <br />Effects on Colorado River" was completed in FY 1974. Results of <br />this report will be incorporated in the Definite Plan Report. <br />Advance Planning studies for the project have not been funded. <br /> <br />c. Savery-Pot Hook Proiect - A special report on <br />the salinity effect of the project on the Colorado River was <br />completed. Permission was granted by the Commissioner of Reclama- <br />tion to initiate contract negotiations with the conservancy districts <br />for project repayment. A draft contract has been completed and is <br />now under review. <br /> <br />d. Fruitland Mesa Proiect - A special salinity <br />report on this project was completed. An environmental assessment <br />of the project was distributed for review on a limited basis. Com- <br />pletion of the Draft Environmental Statement is now under way. The <br />project's repayment contract has been approved and executed. <br />
