P1anninq Activities <br /> <br />The Board continued its joint program with the Rio Grande <br />Water Conservation District that involves the capping and control <br />program for artesian wells in the basin. Also continued was the <br />joint effort that involves an inventory and comprehensive study of <br />drainage facilities in the San Luis Valley. <br /> <br />Several investigations by the Soil Conservation Service <br />under the Small Watershed Projects Program were undertaken or <br />continued during FY 1974. These include the following: <br /> <br />a. Trinchera Watershed - A continued investigation. <br />The plan was submitted to the Portland. Oregon Technical Service <br />Center for technical review in July 1974. <br /> <br />b. Sentry Box Watershed - A new study initiated in <br />FY 1974. Application was submitted to the Colorado Soil Conservation <br />Board and Notice of Intent was submitted to the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Boarq. <br /> <br />'c. Kerber Creek Watershed - A new study. The <br />Watershed Investigation Report was completed early in FY 1975. <br /> <br />d. Rito sito Creek watershed - Same status as c. <br /> <br />above. <br /> <br />A cooperative River Basin Study (Type IV) by the Colo- <br />rado Water Conservation Board and the U. S. Department of Agri- <br />culture was continued. The study is directed to an inventory of <br />the land and related water resources. problems. and needs. and to <br />the potentials for development. The study is scheduled for com- <br />pletion in FY 1976. <br />
