STANDING INSTRUCTIONS <br /> <br />In the event of temporary failure of communications with the operating <br />agency during a flood period, the operator shall continue to operate the <br />reservoir in accordance with latest instructions untU c=unications <br />are restored. It' during the period of interrupted cOllllllWlications, the <br />reservoir becomes uncontrollable and excessive spillwy outflov is <br />occurring or anticipated, the operator shall, if possible, alert down- <br />stream interests of impending,canditions. ' <br /> <br />23. MODIFICATICl'l OF FLOOD CONTROL REGUIATIONS <br /> <br />a. The District Engineer, Sacramento District, Corps of Engineers, <br />DBy temporarily modifY the floo:l control regulations for Paonia I:8m <br />and Reservoir (Appendix A), if necessary in time of emerp;ency. Requests <br />for and action on such modification may be made by any available means <br />of cOllllllWlicatiOll to the Regional Director, Region 4, U. S. Bureau of <br />ReclllllBtion, and the action taken by the District Engineer shall be con- <br />firmed in writing under date of BIlIIIe day to the office of the Regional <br />Director of the Bureau of ReclllllBtion. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />b. The Bureau of Reclamation may temporarily suspend appl1ca1:ion of <br />the flood control regulations for Paonia Reservoir in the event this is <br />dee~d necessary for emergency reasons to protect the safety of the daIII <br />or to avoid other severe hazards. Revision of the schedule of releases <br />for flood control, as contained in the flood control operating plan for <br />Paonia I:8m and Reservoir, t18Y be made lIhen necessary with the IIlUtual <br />consent of the Corps of Engineers ,and the Bureau of ReclaDation. <br /> <br />24. HYDROLOGIC FACILITIES <br /> <br />a. Hydrologic facilities available for operation of the Paonia Project ~ <br />consist of the folloving: ~ <br /> <br />( 1) A pool f!!J.ge at Paonia I:8m. <br />(2) One recording stream gaging station located below Paonia Reservoir. <br />(3) TVo precipitation stations adjacent to the basin. <br />(4) One snow course. <br /> <br />b. Location and description of the existing facilities is included <br />on charts 2 and 3. <br /> <br />18 <br />
