OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />A list of ;;ersOlme1 involved in operation of the reservoir for flood con- <br />trol is included at the front of this report. Responsibilities for flood <br />control operation of Paonia Dam and Reservoir are as summarized herein. <br /> <br />a. The Bureau of Reclamation, or its designated operating agency <br />(North Fork Conservancy District) is responsible for: <br /> <br />(1) Accomplishing the physical operation of the reservoir and associ- <br />ated facilities in accordance with the official regulations. <br /> <br />(2) Advising the District Engineer, Sacramento District, of any need <br />for emergency change in operation. <br /> <br />(3) Reporting to the District Engineer, Sacramento District., any <br />unusual condition in the reservoir or along dovnst.ream channels that. might <br />t.emporarily interfere with the planned flood control operat.ion of the res- <br />ervoir. <br /> <br />(4) Keeping dOllIlStream interests, upon their request, advised of im- <br />pending changes in flood control releases or sPlllvay overflow that llE.y <br />a:f'fect them. <br /> <br />(5) Reporting by telephone to the Reservoir Regulation Section, Sac- <br />ramento District, Corps of Engineers, data as outlined in paragraph 25a <br />belov, and other data that llE.y be requested from time to time. <br /> <br />(6) ImIlled1ately after the end of each mnth, transmitting to the <br />Reservoir Regulation Section, Sacramento District, Corps of Engineers, <br />data s;;ecif1ed in ~aph 25b bela\(, and other data that IlIl.y be re- <br />quested. <br /> <br />b. The District Engineer, Sacramento District, Corps of Engineers is <br />responsible for: <br /> <br />(1) Approving and disapproving emergency changes in flood control <br />operation recormnended by the operating agency, or iSSuing inst.ructions for <br />such changes on his ovn initiative. <br /> <br />(2) Advising the operating agency and the Chief of Engineers of any <br />departure from the flood control regulations. <br /> <br />(3) Fre~ing mnthly operation and other special reports required by <br />the' Office, Chief of Engineers, relative to operation of the reservoir. <br /> <br />17 <br />
