Because of the requi:ement to request storage <br /> <br />water the latter part of one week for use during the fol- <br /> <br />lowing week and because of changes in the ditch lining <br /> <br />contractor schedule there was considerably more water in <br /> <br />the Cerro canal for delivery.to the Jaroso area than their <br /> <br />system could accomodate, especially during the first week <br /> <br />in September. During the first week in September the ditch <br /> <br />company informed the Watermaster that there was an excess <br /> <br />of flow and requested their storage release from Costilla <br /> <br />reservoir be reduced. Coincident with their request the <br /> <br />generator at Costilla dam, used to provide power to-operate <br /> <br />the radio communication system, failed.
