<br />- 10 - <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />6. Project future agricultural conditions considering growth and changes <br />of markets, technological improvements, and changes in farm organiza- <br />tion and production costs, or in institutional or water supply <br />limitations. <br /> <br />7. Cooperate with the other services to develop a desirable pattern of <br />future water and related land use, management, and development in the <br />basin. <br /> <br />8. Participate in plan formulation and provide estimate of economic and <br />social impacts of proposed plans. <br /> <br />Forest Service. With a.ssistance from the Economic Research Service and <br />the Soil Conservation Service, this agency will: <br /> <br />1. Identify watershed improvement opportunities on the national forest. <br /> <br />2. Identify the nature and quantity of land treatment measures needed on <br />national forest lands for sustained wildlife, range and timber yields, <br />watershed protection, flood prevention, recreation, water yield, and <br />pollution control. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3. In cooperation with the other Services, estimate the impact of <br />recreational development potential on adjacent privately owned forest <br />lands as it may supplement, augment, or make more effective proposed <br />or potential recreational developments or activities on national <br />forest lands. <br /> <br />4. In cooperation with the State Forest service, determine the needs for <br />land treatment measures for watershed protection on privately owned <br />forest lands. <br /> <br />5. supply infomation concerning present use and probable future needs <br />of water on national forest lands for various purposes, including <br />administra.tive uses, industrial and other connnercial use, livestock <br />and agriculture, recreation use, fish and wildlife habitat, and other <br />forest based industries. <br /> <br />6. Cooperate with the other Services to review and evaluate available <br />basic physical data, published and unpublished, concerning soil and <br />water resources of na.tional forest and non-Federal forest lands, and <br />to collect additional related basic physical data needed for the <br />survey. <br /> <br />. <br />
