<br />San Juan-Chama <br />Water Accounting <br />Albuquerque Area Office <br />October 2001 <br /> <br />The natural inflow into Heron Reservoir during the month of October was computed to be 145 <br />acre-feet (AF) as shown in Table 3. There were 1225 AF net San Juan-Chama (SJ-C) losses, <br />as shown in Table 2. There were no diversions through Azotea Tunnel this month. The <br />monthly computations for Heron Reservoir are summarized in Tables 1-3. <br /> <br />There was 0.54 inches of precipitation at Heron Reservoir, which is 38% of the <br />October running average of 1.43 inches. <br /> <br />There was a total of 145 AF of Natural (RG) released from Heron through seepage (Table 3) . <br />There was 1968 AF of SJ-C released for the month of October, of which 1236 AF was released <br />for.the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District (MRGCD) to their pool in El Vado. 732 AF was <br />released for the city of Albuquerque (City) to their pool in Abiquiu. <br /> <br />There was a total of 319 AF of SJ-C released for the month of October from El Vado, this <br />was from the MRGCD's pool for irrigation needs down stream (Table 4). <br /> <br />There was 3247 AF of SJ-C water released from Abiquiu, of which the total was released <br />from MRGCD' s pool for irrigation needs (Table 4 may be slightly different from the letter <br />due to rounding. <br /> <br />There was 163 AF of SJ-C released from the City's pool in Elephant Butte for the Wine <br />Growers depletions for 2001. <br /> <br />Total inflow into Narnbe Falls Reservoir was computed to be 129 AF. There were 32 AF of <br />losses on the reservoir. Table 4 summarizes San Juan-Chama water at Otowi. <br /> <br />Estimated sediment deposition in the. San Juan-Chama pools at Abiquiu and Jemez Canyon <br />Reservoirs, and Cochiti Lake are presented in Tables 5A-5C. Storage and evaporation of Rio <br />Grande water in El Vado and Abiquiu Reservoirs are shown in Table 6. <br /> <br />Table 5C provides water accounting information for Elephant Butte Reservoir. Please note <br />content information for Elephant Butte has been corrected taking into accountant the latest <br />area capacity tables effective January 1, 2001. <br /> <br />All data are provisional and subject to revision as final data are collected and analyzed. <br /> <br />;. <br />
