<br />The Narrows Unit has a favorable benefit-cost ratio M 1.4 to 1.0,
<br />based on'a IOO-year period with interest at a rate of 3-1/4 percent
<br />annu<llly. This means that for every $1.00 Invested in the development,
<br />benefits of $1.40 would accrue.

<br />The expenditure of Federal funds to begin construction cannot occur
<br />until at least 30 days after filing the final environmental staten~nt
<br />with the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ),
<br />
<br />Under the present time schedule. construction could be 'initiated as
<br />early as June 1976. Initial construction activities will be the acquisition
<br />of land required for the road and railroad relocations, dam, and borrow
<br />areas. The iinticipated construction period to acquire necessary lands
<br />and build all facilities for the Narr~ws Unit is expected to cover 7 years.
