<br />Other features of the Narrows Unit will include additional lands and
<br />developments for recreation and for fish and wildlife.
<br />
<br />, Except for th<lSe areas required for project operation, the areas
<br />surrounding the reservoir will be used to develop recreation facilities
<br />and/or mitigate losses of fish and wildlife resources.
<br />
<br />Lands acquired specifically for ,recreation purposes will be
<br />approximately. 970 acres and lands for fish and wildlife purposes will be
<br />about 7,170 aCres, Recreation facilities will be constructed by stages.
<br />as the 'need develops. Such facilities will include access roads, parking
<br />areas, boat launching facil ities, campgrounds, picnic units, toilets,
<br />water supply, shelter's, beach development, and an administrative area.
<br />
<br />In addition to the above land acquired for recreation and fish and
<br />wildlife. approximately 23,000 acres of lands lying within the flood
<br />control pool .of Narrows Reservoir, lands adjoining Narrows Reservoir,
<br />and lands adjoining Jackson Reservoir will be made available to the State
<br />of Colorado for wildlife and recreation management.
<br />
<br />Lands downstream from Narrows Oam will be acquired to mitigate losses
<br />and damages to fish and wildlife and their habitat. Approximately 5,5 miles
<br />of the South I'latte River and adjoining land will be purchased and will be
<br />developed and managed by the Coloraoo, Division of Wildlife.

<br />protection from Bijou Creek floods, the project as authorized in 1970 did
<br />not provide for such protection. .
