Financial rates of return were prepared by <br />Ernst & Whinney for the range of viable pipeline capacities. <br /> <br />Aquatrain, Inc. and Reclamation staff prepared a Business Plan defining <br />the pipeline system. <br /> <br />4.1 ANTICIPATED SEPTEMBER EVENTS <br /> <br />The Business Plan will be presented to prospective investors to secure <br />financing for pipeline design and construction. <br /> <br />5.0 SUBTEAM: TECHNICAL/ENGINEERING (Johnson) <br />5.1 JULY-AUGUST EVENTS <br /> <br />State-of-the-art equipment for the liquid C02/coal slurry pipeline's <br />slurry and des 1 urry facil it i es was evaluated. The conceptual des i gn was <br />reviewed and expanded to incorporate modifications. The engineering <br />cost estimate was updated to include total project requirements. Cost <br />estimates were prepared by International Engineering Company for a range <br />of system capacities. <br /> <br />6.0 SUBTEAM: ENVIRONMENT/CORRIDOR/FEDERAL PERMITTING/ENERGY MANAGEMENT (FITE) <br />6.1 JULY-AUGUST EVENTS <br /> <br />A contract was signed with an independent contractor to study use of Big <br />Sandy River water at Jim Bridger Powerplant. <br /> <br />Contacts were made with potential industrial users of Glenwood-Dotsero <br />Springs water. Two groups have voiced interest in determining costs and <br />benefits of using saline water for oil shale processing and solution <br />mining of potash. <br /> <br />2 <br />
