Mr. E. S. Coftman, Federal Paver Collllll1ss1on Re-
presentative, served as Cllairman of the Co_Utee.

TIle Collllll1ttee submitted its formal report at the July meeting
in Colorado Springs, Colo., but action by AWlUllAC vas deferred until
the next meeting to permit thorougll study at' the report and the recom-
mendations. In its report the Collllll1ttee identified t'ourteen pllases or
aspects of hydrolog;( or hydrologic lI.Dll.lysia which partiCularly require
coordination in order to obtain comprehensive planning and development
at' a watershed. The Committee concluded that these could be divided
into three categories With respect to method or manner of achievement;
five which could be resolved at the local level by the agencies con-
cerned and/or with coordination by AWRBlAC; four would require
resolution in Washington by the respective departments, perhaps
througll action by ICWR; and the remaining five can be resolved at the
local level, contingent upon action from higher autllority on the
preceding four items. Further, the CoDllD1 t tee found tlla t a number of
studies llave been made, are under vay, or are proposed in the general
area of effects of upstream reservoirs upon dovostream water yield.
It commended the attention of AWlUlIAC to these studies and to the
reports and results thereof as they are forthcoming.

At the September meeting at Sequoyah State Park, OklahollB,
AWRBIAC adopted the report of the Ad Hoc CoDllD1 ttee and discllarged the
Comm1ttee as llaving fulfilled its assignment. A copy of the report
vas transmitted to the Chairman of the Inter-Agency Committee on Water
Resources With a letter calling specific attention to those aspectl ot'
the problem ot' hydrologic coordination requiring action and resolution
at the Washington level and requesting consideration and advice from
the Inter-Agency Committee on Water Resources. At the May meeting in
Fort Worth, Mr. M. LeBosquet, Jr., Secretary of the Inter-Agency Com-
mttee on Water Resources, reported tllat study llad been given to the
Ad Hoc COIIIIII.1ttee report by the staft' and by a special group of the
Subcommittee on Hydrology.
