No program or "speaker type" agende. vas developed, <br />and the entire meeting vas devoted to discussions of the internal business <br />of AWRBIAC. Reports were received from ad hoc committees. A detailed <br />discussion 01' the activities, present and projected, 01' the Inter-Agency <br />ColllDrl.ttee on Water Resources vas held, lea.d by Mr. Maurice LeBosquet, Jr., <br />Secretary 01' that ColllDrl.ttee. Each 01' the Federal representatives gave <br />reports on significant Federal legislation recently enacted or pending <br />consideration. Likewise, each State representative gave a similar repo~ <br />on State legislation within his State. Some time vas devoted to a dis- <br />cussion of the objectives and problems to be undertaken for the coming <br />year and consideration given the type of programs best suited to accom- <br />plish these objectives. At the close of the meeting Stats and Federal <br />caucuses were held and the following selections made: <br /> <br />Chairman Agency 1958-59. <br /> <br />Department of Bea.lth, Education, and Welfare <br /> <br />State Representative, Administrative Committee, 1957-58. <br /> <br />Louisiana <br /> <br />Federal Agency Representative, Administrative Committee, 1957-58. <br /> <br />Department of A:rmy <br /> <br />IV. Ad Boc ColllDrl.ttees <br /> <br />As is mentioned in Part II, all special technical and policy <br />problems, resolution of conflicts, and other business of AWRBIAC, other <br />than the specific assigned responsibilities of the Administrative Com- <br />mittee, which require preliminary consideration before deliberation by <br />the Committee as a whole, are handled by the establishment of an ad hoc <br />collllll1ttee. <br /> <br />Five ad hoc committees were active during all or a part of <br />the 'fear 1956-57. Each will be discussed in the ensuing paragraphs. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />The Ad Boc Committee on B'fdrologic Coordination vas appointed <br />at the New Orleans, La., meeting in March 1956, and submitted its report <br />at the September 1956 meeting.
