' Mt. Elbert Forebay and COnduit is scheduled to be operated in <br />1980-81 for testing of the Mt. Elbert ~-Storage Powerplant. <br /> <br />III. REPORI' CN OPERATICNS DURING WATER YFJ\R 1980 <br /> <br />A. Ruedi Reservoir <br /> <br />On September 30, 1979, Ruedi Reservoir had a oontent of 98,480 acre-feet <br />and wa~ at elevation 7762.05 ft. The outlet W)rks were set to release <br />150 ft Is on October 5, 1979 and were left ~e Imtil J~y 9, 1980. <br />Outflows varied approximately between 174 ft Is to 110 ft Is. The <br />reservoir reached the seasons low on April 20, 1980 at elevatiolj 7704.99 <br />ft. The release was cut to the minimum instream flow of 110 ft Is on <br />July 9, 1980 to maintain a feasible high reservoir elevation for recreation <br />purpose . <br /> <br />During September and October of 1979, 500 acre-feet of water were sold <br />to the COlorado Highway Department. <br /> <br />On September 30, 1980, outflow fran Ruedi Reservoir was 107 ft3/s, and <br />the content was 94,668 acre-feet (elevation 7758.08 ft.). <br /> <br />:. <br /> <br />Table 1 and Exhibit 4 sh:Jw the operation of Ruedi Reservoir during water <br />year 1980. <br /> <br />B. Western Slope COllection System <br /> <br />The Fryingpan-Arkansas Project imports began on May 8 and ended on <br />July 25. The Hunter Tunnel System came into operation for the first <br />time in 1980. This included Hunter, Midway, and No Name creek Diversions. <br />The total West Slope diversion in 1980 was 56,087 acre-feet. This <br />ancunt was CClllilClratively low to = May 1 forecast and this was oontributed <br />Irostly to below oonnal. spring precipitation and low soil IlDisture oonditions <br />in the fall. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />2 <br />
