<br />5 <br /> <br />(4) to compile data necessary to understand and determine <br /> <br />the supply of and various demands for water from or on the <br /> <br />-public'lands which now exist and which are likely to exist <br /> <br />within the foreseeable future; <br /> <br />(5) to relate the use of other public land resources on' <br /> <br />water yields and quality; and <br /> <br />(6) to identify proposed alternatives to the existing <br /> <br />legal system for subsequent evaluation. <br /> <br />B. Lands to be Studied <br /> <br />The study will be concerned with the following lands <br /> <br />described in Section 10 of the Act creating the C0crnission, <br /> <br />supr~: " * * * (a) the public domain of the United SCates; <br /> <br />(b) reservations, other than Indian reservations, created <br /> <br />from the public domain; (c) lands permanently or temporarily <br /> <br />withdrawn, reserved, or withheld from private appropriation <br /> <br />and disposal under the public land laws, * * * (d) national <br /> <br />forests; (e) wildlife refuges and ranges; * * *." <br /> <br />II.
