<br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />001942 <br />63-1 Meeting--Anaheim, Cal ifornia, March 6-7, 1963 <br /> <br />This meeting was sponsored by the State of Cal ifornia and the Department of the <br />Interior. California was the host state, The program included a review of the <br />Nationol Administration's basic concepts and standards in water resource planning; <br />a revi ew of national sol ine water research and development programs and a report <br />on the recently organized Universities Council on Hydrology. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Speakers included J, Karl Lee, Chief Economist, Project Development Division, <br />Bureau of Reclamation, Woshington, D, c.; S. T. Mulford, Field Engineer, Office <br />of Saline Water, San Diego Plant and Dr. Warren A. Hall, Director, California <br />Water Resources Center, and Interim Executive Secretary of the Universities Council <br />on Hydrology. <br /> <br />The State of Cal ifornia hosted the meeting which was attended by opproximately <br />50 peopl e. <br /> <br />63-2 Meeting--Gunnison, Colorado, June 5-6, 1963 <br /> <br />Comprehensive water resource planning formed the centrol theme of the 63-2 meeting <br />of PSIAC, The State of Colorado and the Corps of Engineers developed the program, <br />and Colorado was the host state. Water resource planning activities of the State of <br />Colorado were reviewed along with the Corps of Engineer's opproach to comprehensive <br />river basin planning. Plans to develop 0 long-range weather forecasting procedure <br />and possible impact of long-range forecasting on water resource development were <br />also reviewed. <br /> <br />Speakers included Felix L. Sparks, Director, Colorado N,Jtural Resources Boord, <br />Denver, Colorado; Mojor General Robert G. MacDonnell, who is Deputy Chief <br />of Engineers, Washington, D. c., and Dr. Wolter Orr Roberts, Director, Notional <br />Center for Atmospheric Research, University of Colorodo, Boulder, Colorodo. <br /> <br />Approximately 50 people attended the meeting. <br /> <br />Field Trips <br /> <br />Field trips were conducted at Anaheim, Colifornia and ot Gunnison, Colorado. <br /> <br />The field trip at Anaheim, which wos jointly sponsored by the Sedimentation and <br />Hydrology Subcommittees, was attended by approximately 40 members. Points of <br />interest visited on this field trip included the Son Dimas Experimental Forest; <br />several Corps of Engineers debris basins; Los Angeles County Water Reclamation <br />Plant, and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District's water spreading grounds. <br />
