<br />001943 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />Approximately 70 PSIAC members and guests toured the Blue Mesa and Morrow Point <br />damsites which are located on the Gunnison River, Dams at these two locations <br />will be major elements of the Curecanti Project. The tour also included a side <br />trip to Black Canyon N.,tional Monument. During this tour, Governor Love of <br />Colorado visited with the group for a short time. <br /> <br />Banquets <br /> <br />Evening banquets were held at Santa Fe, New Mexico, Anaheim, Cal ifornia, <br />and Gunnison, Colorado, Mr. L, J. Vortman, Underground Physics Division, <br />Sandia Corporation, Albuquerque, New Mexico, described the use of nuclear <br />explosives as a potential technique for improving various aspects of water resources <br />at the Santa Fe meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Arthur E, Bruington, Chief of the Department of Water Conservation, Los <br />Angeles County Flood Control District, reviewed the work which the flood control <br />district is doing in Los Angeles County in the development of salt-water barriers, <br /> <br />At Gunnison, Colorado, Mr, Don J. Alley, Program Manager for Advanced Military <br />Systems at Martin Aircraft in Denver, Colorado, reviewed various space research <br />projects in which Martin is presently engaged, <br /> <br />Total ottendance figures were 75 at Santa Fe, New Mexico, 55 at Anaheim, <br />Cal ifornia, and 64 at Gunnison, Colorado. <br /> <br />Pub I icat ions <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />Minutes of the four regular meetings, including papers delivered in the program <br />sessions of PS lAC meetings, were printed, bound with covers, and approximately <br />. 500 copies were distributed to member States, Federal agencies and other groups or <br />individuals on the regular mailing list. <br /> <br />PSIAC Directory <br /> <br />The PSIAC Directory wos updated, reprinted and distributed by the Chairman Agency <br />(U.
