The Phreatophyte Subcommittee sholl meet not I ess than four times yearly <br />with at least one meeting at the same place as the parent committee. <br />Other meetings will be scheduled in the vicinity of problem or study areas <br />in order that members may gain first-hand knowledge of the problems and <br />the research bei ng conducted. <br /> <br />2. Task forces will be appointed by the Subcommittee Chairman as necessary <br />and shall meet as required. <br /> <br />3, the work of the Phreatophyte Subcommittee shall be coordinated with that <br />of other PSIAC Subcommittees through joint meetings and scheduling and <br />announcement of other meetings to facil itate attendance by members of <br />other subcomm i ttees. <br /> <br />4. The chairman shall provide PSIAC with a brief annual report describing <br />activities and accompl ishments of the subcommittee not later than June 1st <br />of each year. This report will be on a fiscol year basis for the inclusion <br />in the annual report of PSIAC, <br /> <br />PROGRAM <br /> <br />1, Legal status of water salvaged by eradication or control ofphreatophytes. <br /> <br />2. Quantities of water that may be salvaged by eradication or control of <br />various species of phreatophytes under different conditions of (a) cI imate, <br />(b) depths to water tabl e, and (c) qual ity of ground water. <br /> <br />3. Evapotronspiration discharge rates by species of phreatophytes for varying <br />conditions of climate, water table, and water quality, <br /> <br />4. Economics of water salvage by eradication or control of phreatophytes. <br /> <br />5. Control methods including mechanical, chemical, biological, etc. <br />
