Water was pumped at Hayfield for delivery to Lake Mathews
from September 15 to November 1, 1946 and from May 16 to
June 30, 1947. Intake, Gene, Iron Mountain, and Eagle Mountain
pumping plants were operated as required to maintain storage at
Gene and Copper Basin reservoirs and to provide the required flow
to the Hayfield plant. Pumping at Hayfield was suspended from
November 1 to May 16 to permit work in the San Jacinto tunnel
('onsisting of additional grouting behind the concrete lining and
repair of breaks in the invert concrete.
