Comment Consolidation on Proposed Decision

Comments on the Proposed Decision will be summarized for the
purpose of informing the public.

Action on the Proposed Decision

If it is decided not to adhere to the proposed decision, then
further consultation with the states and continued public
involvement will be necessary. The review process will then
include another cycle of consultation with the states and the
associated public involvement activities.

If it is decided to adhere to the proposed decision, the NEPA
process will be applied and Phase II of the public involvement
plan will begin.

Newsletter No. 5

The public will be informed in Newsletter No. 5 of developments,
meetings, issues, comments, and actions on the Proposed Decision.

Estimated Schedule for Completion of Phase I

The dates of the Management/Public Involvement Plan are subject
to change based on the comments received in terms of quantity,
substance, and diversity of issues.

December 1990 Transmittal letter from the Commissioner to
the Secretary of the Interior requesting
notification of review by the states.
(December 31, 1990)

January 1991 Reclamation will consult with the states in
review of the Management/Public Involvement
Plan. (January 9-22, 1991 for review)

January 1991 First Federal Reaister Notice published.
(January 7, 1991)

May 1991 Comment period for first Federal Reaister
Notice extended to May 1, 1991.

May 1991 Major decisions on public involvement
activities should be completed.

May 1991 Newsletter No. 1 published informing
public of issues, comments, and future
activities.
