A moderate level <br />of pUblic interest, or in areas where a large response is not <br />expected, smaller public meetings or workshops may be the most <br />appropriate form. In the event of a low level of interest, <br />separate meetings with small groups, organizations, or <br />individuals may be the best way to insure the opportunity for the <br />public to provide ~r receive information. <br /> <br />Larger meetings could be conducted by a Solicitor or an impartial <br />moderator, and could include a panel of technical experts to <br />answer questions or explain technical aspects of the Operating <br />Criteria. The smaller meetings/workshops could be conducted by <br />Reclamation staff members. <br /> <br />News Releases/Public Notices containing pertinent information as <br />to meeting dates, times, and places will be issued to the <br />interested public approximately 25 days prior to the meeting. <br /> <br />Correspondence may be used to respond to individual concerns in <br />the event of low public response. Interested individuals will <br />also be kept informed of issues, future meetings, or public <br />activities by newsletter, fact sheet, or correspondence. <br /> <br />Individual requests for information will be responded to by mail <br />or use of phone conversation, depending on the need. Small group <br />presentations may be used in presenting the issues to those <br />public organizations and/or agencies requesting further <br />information. <br /> <br />It is anticipated the public involvement meeting process may <br />require up to three months to complete. This time will include <br />the coordination and reply period necessary in responding to <br />comments. <br /> <br />Newsletter No. 2 <br /> <br />Newsletter No. 2 will contain a summary of issues and comments <br />obtained from the various meetings/workshops and written <br />responses. The interested public will be informed of the date, <br />time, and place of the Consultation Meetings to be held between <br /> <br />4 <br />
