Memorandum

A memorandum to the Secretary of the Interior from Reclamation's
Commissioner defining the review process and requesting his
notification of review to the Seven Colorado River Basin State
Governors was transmitted in December 1990. The Secretary of the
Interior signed the letters to the Governors on December 31,
1990.

state Review of the Draft Manaqement/Public Involvement Plan

Reclamation consulted with the states in review of this
Management/Public Involvement Plan and briefed the Commissioner.

First Federal Req~ster Notice

The first Federal Reqister Notice was published on January 7,
1991. An information packet containing the Federal Reqister
Notice and operating criteria was sent to the interested publics
for their review and possible comments on January 15, 1991.
(The comment period was extended to conclude May 1, 1991).

Future public involvement activities will depend on comments
received as to how they relate to the operating criteria or other
issues. The details of meetings/workshops etc. will be decided
at this time. This is a major decision point for management.

Comments

Comments received will be recorded on a log-in sheet (date of
receipt, name and address of respondent, issue or concern),
numbered as to date of receipt, chronologically filed,
summarized, categorized by state or area, and copies distributed
to the appropriate technical staff for information and reply.

Newsletter No. 1

Newsletter No. 1 will be published containing a summary of the
comments, special issues, and information as to future
activities, including dates, times, and places of public
meetings. The summary of comments may include whole statements
or quotes submitted by the interested public. The original
mailing list will be used to determine recipients of this
newsletter which is anticipated for publication by
mid-May 1991.
