The Secretary of the <br />Interior signed the letters to the Governors on December 31, <br />1990. <br /> <br />state Review of the Draft Manaqement/Public Involvement Plan <br /> <br />Reclamation consulted with the states in review of this <br />Management/Public Involvement Plan and briefed the Commissioner. <br /> <br />First Federal Req~ster Notice <br /> <br />The first Federal Reqister Notice was published on January 7, <br />1991. An information packet containing the Federal Reqister <br />Notice and operating criteria was sent to the interested publics <br />for their review and possible comments on January 15, 1991. <br />(The comment period was extended to conclude May 1, 1991). <br /> <br />Future public involvement activities will depend on comments <br />received as to how they relate to the operating criteria or other <br />issues. The details of meetings/workshops etc. will be decided <br />at this time. This is a major decision point for management. <br /> <br />Comments <br /> <br />Comments received will be recorded on a log-in sheet (date of <br />receipt, name and address of respondent, issue or concern), <br />numbered as to date of receipt, chronologically filed, <br />summarized, categorized by state or area, and copies distributed <br />to the appropriate technical staff for information and reply. <br /> <br />Newsletter No. 1 <br /> <br />Newsletter No. 1 will be published containing a summary of the <br />comments, special issues, and information as to future <br />activities, including dates, times, and places of public <br />meetings. The summary of comments may include whole statements <br />or quotes submitted by the interested public. The original <br />mailing list will be used to determine recipients of this <br />newsletter which is anticipated for publication by <br />mid-May 1991. <br /> <br />3 <br />
