<br />I <br />I <br />'1 <br />~I' <br />" <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />[I <br /> <br />:1 <br />J <br />I <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />I <br />1 <br />!I <br />:. <br />LI <br />1 <br />~I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Management/Public Involvement Plan is a dynamic document that <br />will evolve as interests of affected individuals, agencies, <br />organizations, and governmental entities are consulted and <br />included in the review process. <br /> <br />LEVEL OF PUBLIC INTEREST ANTICIPATED <br /> <br />Because the level of public interest is uncertain, and the <br />substance of comments is unknown, this public involvement plan is <br />designed to be flexible to respond to a wide variety of input. <br /> <br />INTERESTED ENTITIES <br /> <br />A list of agencies, organizations, and groups expected to have an <br />interest in the project was developed and coordinated between the <br />Upper and Lower CoJorado Regions and the Seven Colorado River <br />Basin States. Appendix A lists the contacted entities according <br />to state. This list will continue to be updated as notification <br />of interest is received. <br /> <br />PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY AND EXPERTISE <br /> <br />The Upper and Lower Colorado Regional Directors have overall <br />responsibility for public involvement associated with this <br />review. It has been determined the Lower Colorado Regional <br />Office will be the lead organization for conducting the review. <br /> <br />The preparation of newsletters, fact sheets, and news releases <br />will be a coordinated effort between the Upper and Lower Colorado <br />Regions and their staffs. <br /> <br />The Seven Colorado River Basin States may be requested to assist <br />in organizing, promoting, and participating in those public <br />involvement activities occurring within their geographical <br />jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Many of those directly involved with this review process have had <br />forma~ publ~c involvement training as well as considerable <br />exper1ence 1n dealing with the public on other projects and <br />issues. These persons will have prime responsibility in <br />arranging and conducting meetings for the public involvement <br />portions of the process. <br /> <br />PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />A description of the public involvement activities for Phase I is <br />provided below.
