<br />. . <br /> <br />0020~? <br /> <br />Operating Plan 1966 (Conttl.) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The water use study initiated by the Bureau of Reclamation in 1964 in <br />~e area served by the Meeker-Driftwood System will continue during <br />1966 and the next two years, <br /> <br />Almena Irrigation District No, 5 <br /> <br />The Almen8 Irrigation District plans to contract, under terms of Warren <br />Act, with the Bureau of Reclamation for supplemental water supply from <br />Norton Reservoir for the 1966 irrigation season. The district will <br />make this storage water available to irrigators with a natural flow <br />appropriations along Prairie Dog Creek downstream from Norton Dam. <br /> <br />Bostwick Irrigation District in Nebraska <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Franklin, Naponee, Franklin Pump and Superior systems and Courtland <br />Laterals in Nebraaka will be operated and maintained by the Bostwick <br />Irrigation District in Nebraska with storage from Harlan County <br />Reservoir. An estimated 20,000 acres will be irrigated in 1966, The <br />Kansas-Bostwick Irrigation District No. 2 will operate and maintain <br />the Superior-Courtland Diversion Dam and Courtland Canal in Nebraska, <br />The Courtland Canal supplies water for irrigation of district lands in <br />Nebraska, Kansas-Bostwick Irrigation District lands and diversions to <br />Lovewell Reservoir, Transportation loss in the Courtlsnd Canal is <br />shared on s water use basis, The maintenance cost of the diversion dam <br />and Courtland Canal in Nebrsska is shared by the Kansas-Bostwick <br />Irrigation District and the Bostwick Irrigstion District in Nebraska, <br /> <br />Ksnsas-Bostwick Irrigation District No.2 <br /> <br />In 1966, 25,500 scres are expected to be irrigsted in the Ksnsss- <br />Bostwick Irrigation District No, 2, of which 8,850 scres sre above <br />Lovewell Reservoir and 16,650 acres are below. Lovewell snd Harlsn <br />County Reservoirs provide storsge for this district. <br /> <br />Kirwin Irrigstion District No.1 <br /> <br />The Kirwin Irrigstion District No. 1 will operate and maintain the <br />Kirwin system to irrigate an estimated 9,000 scres during the 1966 <br />irrigation season from Kirwin Reservoir. <br /> <br />Webster Irrigation District No.4 <br /> <br />The Webster Irrigstion District No, 4 will operate snd maintsin the <br />Osborne system, Of the 8,500 scres svailable for service, 6,800 acres <br />are expected to be irrigated in 1966, Kirwin and Webster Irrigation <br />Districts sre operated under joint management. Webster Reservoir <br />provides storage for this district, <br /> <br />Cedar Bluff Irrigstion District No, 6 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Cedsr Bluff Irrigation District No, 6 will operste snd maintsin <br />the Cedar Bluff system, An estimated 5,250 acres will be irrigsted <br />during the 1966 irrigation season from Cedar Bluff Reservoir, <br /> <br />16 <br />
