<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />0020~8 <br /> <br />Operating Plan 1966 (Contd~ <br /> <br />MUNICIPAL WATER <br /> <br />City of Norton, Kanaas <br /> <br />Water will be available to supply the maximum of 1,600 acre-feet <br />contracted for by the City of Norton, Kansas. <br /> <br />City of Beloit, Kansas <br /> <br />Wster will be available from Webster Reservoir for diversion of 1,000 <br />acre-feet to the City of Beloit, Kansas, until such time as Glen Elder <br />Dam is completed. <br /> <br />City of Russell, Kansaa <br /> <br />The municipal water supply demands of the City of Russell, Kansas, <br />will be supplied in full by return flows to the Smoky Hill River <br />from the Cedsr Bluff Nstiona1 Fish Hatchery below Cedar Bluff Dsm, <br />snd irrigstion, snd by releases from Cedar Bluff Reservoir, Demands <br />of the City of Russell, Kansas, will be met in full during 1966, <br /> <br />OTHER USES <br /> <br />The visitstion and use of reservoirs is expected to increase in the <br />future. During the past year, paved roads were constructed to and <br />over Medicine Creek Dam, to Norton Reservoir recreation aress and <br />over Webster Dam. This year, s paved road will be constructed over <br />Trenton Dam. Job Corps personnel, under the supervision of the Bureau <br />of Reclamation, will be working in the Enders, Swsnson, Hugh Butler <br />snd Hsrry Strunk Reservoir areas on fish, wildlife, recrestion snd <br />conservation enhancement of the aress. <br /> <br />Even with irrigstion operations snd possible flood operationa, the <br />reservoirs in this report will provide excellent opportunities for <br />fish, wi1dife snd recreation activities during 1966. <br /> <br />17 <br />
