<br />002OD8 <br /> <br />1965 Operations (Cont~) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Trenton Dam and Swanson Lake <br /> <br />The reservoir inflow for 1965 including 18,000 acre-feet transferred <br />from Ronny Reservoir was 130~ of the most probable, with a maximum <br />elevation of 2755,13 feet (136,320 acre-feet) reached on July 11. <br />This was 3.13 feet (16,160 acre-feet) in the flood control pool. <br /> <br />The 18,364 acres irrigated under the Bartley and Meeker-Driftwood <br />Canals were provided a full water supply from controlled spills and <br />irrigation releases out of Swanson Lake. The lake ~aB drawn down to <br />elevation 2748.10 (75,920 acre-feet) on August 19, with an active <br />conservation carryover storsge of 61,940 acre-feet. On August I, an <br />evaluation of reservoir storage showed storage 1n excess of project <br />needs; therefore) storage in the amount of 32 acre-feet was Bold to <br />natural flow appropriators under Warren Act Contracts. <br /> <br />During 1965, Trenton Dam prevented $477,000 in flood damages, and <br />since 1953, the accrued flood damages prevented are $1,786,000. <br /> <br />Enders Dam and Reaervoir <br /> <br />The reservoir inflow for 1965 was 11970 of the moat probable, with a <br />maximum elevation of 3113,62 (46,777 acre-feet) reached on July 18. <br />This was 1,32 feet (2,297 acre-feet) in the flood control pool, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The reservoir storage was adequate to meet the demands of the 17,872 <br />acres irrigated by the Frenchman Valley and H & RW Irrigation Districts. <br />Special releases were made at various times throughout the season to <br />periodically sluice sediment deposits from the pool area above the <br />Culbertson Diversion Dam. The reservoir was drawn down to elevation <br />3097.36 feet (23,382 acre-feet) on September 13 with an active conser- <br />vation carryover storage of 13,017 scre-feet. No surplus storage was <br />available for sale under Warren Act Contracts. <br /> <br />Major repairs on the outlet works hollow jet valves were completed <br />prior to the start of the 1965 irrigation season. <br /> <br />Flood damages in the amount of $137,000 were prevented by Enders Dam <br />during 1965, and the project has prevented damages amounting to $910,000 <br />since 1950. <br /> <br />Red Willow Dam and Hugh Butler Lake <br /> <br />The reservoir inflow for 1965 was 106~ of the most probable with a <br />maximum elevation of 2578,75 (33,010 acre-feet) reached on July 6, <br />Thia was 3.05 feet below top of the conservation pool, The reservoir <br />storage was adequate to meet the demands of 3,150 acres irrigated under <br />the Red Willow Canal.
