The following are examples of services <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />that will be affected by implementation of PL 92 -500 and the resulting <br /> <br />activity. <br /> <br />Health Services. It is widely recognized that rural areas generally <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />suffer in comparison to urban areas when it comes to availability and <br /> <br />adequacy of health service facilities and personnel. For example, counties <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />defined as rural or semi-rural average only about half as many physicians <br /> <br />per 1,000 population as do counties defined as "metropolitan adjacent." <br /> <br />The difficulty of attracting new physicians to rural areas experiencing <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />rapid growth is also widely recognized. Seve.ral counties in the Colorado <br /> <br />River Basin that have had accelerated growth associated with coal and oil <br /> <br />shale development have already recognized this. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Law Enforcement.
