Rip-rap and waste gates were repaired. Fifteen Pend Vane lineTs were
Installed in laterals whIch bad formerly had no rating flumes. A clock
recorder WQS installed at the rating flume of the Holly Lateral. Thls
lateral is the largest under the Amity Canal. serving nearly ooe.180tb
of the total shares. The recorder keeps a contlnuouB record of water de-
liveries and has facllltated oo.lcuLations of water amounts. Weeds and
willows were aprayed as tlme permitted. Routine repairs of ditcll rJder
houses. rating flumes, etc.. were don-e a.s needed. The maintenance ot
your canal system la a continuous operation.

On April 1, storage in this reservoir was 23,189 acre feet.
Stored water was llrst released on AprJJ I, satisfying a call from both
Colorado and Kansas. Storage was exhausted On April 12. The Reser-
voJr lIemalaed empty untJJ September 22, when the vaIves were closed
for storage. The small quantity of water lasted only until SePtember
25. No more water was stored DntH the gates were closed in November.

Once again, sportsmen'. groups are pressing tor a permanent
pool In this J'leservolr. The Amity Canal, aloD, with many other Irrlga.-
tion interest. In Colorado and KaD&as. have spent much time and effort
In opposJtlon to the permanent pool. The Issue .111 no doubt be thor-
