<br />Very lIttle water was diverted Into this storage system during
<br />th-e pB.8t year. The total amount diverted was placed In Nee Skah, or
<br />Queen Reservoir under contractual obligation with the Fort Lyon Cao6
<br />at Thls contract 8tipulates -that 5,483 acre teet, les8 storage 1088 ot 2()()
<br />acre feet per month. QlUst be made avaUable tor the Fort Lyon berore
<br />water caD be run to other reservoirs in the Great Plains Group. There
<br />was Insufficient water available even to satisty this prlma.ry obllga.

<br />The heavy rains of June 15 caused 11 breaks In the Kicking
<br />BIrd Canal. ranging trom 'Very larg-e to minor in B1ze. These breaks
<br />were repaired by July ,10. All the canals and connecting channels were
<br />cleaned during the year.
<br />The Number 2 bifurcation gates, long iu need of repair, were
<br />rebuilt this year. The 3 large gates were stripped ot their wooden
<br />facing, straightened. and reinforced with heavy angle iron. They were
<br />then covered with % lnch boller plate. bolted and welded In place.
<br />The 2 smaller galea Wtlre bra.ce4 and welded Is needed..
