<br />000610 <br /> <br />(2) Undertake continuing review of all large-scale interstate and <br />interbasin :plans and projects for development, control or utili- <br />zation of water resources in the western states and submit <br />recommendations to the Governors' regarding the compatibility <br />of such projects and plans with an orderly and optimum develop- <br />ment of water resources in the western states. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />ARTICLE V - MEMBERSHIP <br /> <br />(1) The membership of the Council shall consist of not more than <br />three representatives of each of the states of Arizona, California, <br />Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, <br />Washington and Wyoming appointed by and at the pleasure of <br />the respective Governors. The states of Alaska and Hawaii shall <br />be added to membership if their Governors so request, <br /> <br />(2) Member states may name alternate representatives for any <br />meeting, <br /> <br />(3) Any state may withdraw from membership upon written notice <br />by its Governor, <br /> <br />ARTICLE VI - EX OFFICIO MEMBERS <br /> <br />The Governors of the member states shall be ex officio members and <br />shall be in addition to the regularly appointed members from each state, <br /> <br />ARTICLE VII - OFFICERS <br /> <br />The officers of the Council shall be the Chairman, Vice Chairman and <br />Secretary-Treasurer. They shall be selected in the manner provided in Article VIII. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VIII - SELECTION OF OFFICERS <br /> <br />The Chairman and Vice Chairman, who shall be from different states, <br />shall be elected from the Council by a majority vote at a regular meeting to <br />be held in July of each year. The Secretary-Treasurer shall be appointed by <br />and serve at the pleasure of the Chairman and need not be a member of the <br />Council, The Chairman and Vice Chairman shall serve one-year terms, but <br />may not be elected to serve more than two terms consecutively in anyone office. <br /> <br />-12 - <br />
