<br />00057'3 <br /> <br />MISSOURI <br /> <br />Missouri's Department of Natural Resources' 1979 Goals and Objectives <br /> <br />Manual indicates Missouri's objective is to promote the wise use of water <br />resources by identifying and responding to critical concerns and to determine <br />the availability and character of Missouri's water resources in order to <br />provide the information needed for their optimum development and management. <br />River basin planning is an integral part of Missouri's comprehensive planning <br />system which indicates the development of a comprehensive long-range State plan <br />for the conservation development, management, and use of water resources. <br />MONTANA <br /> <br />Montana's goal is to have a comprehensive plan prepared for the entire <br /> <br /> <br />State by 1980. In order to complete its river basin studies, it is imperative <br /> <br /> <br />that Montana continue to receive Title III funding. Studies involving water <br /> <br /> <br />availability and studies leading to coordination of water .quality and quantity <br /> <br /> <br />planning and management are particularly crucial. <br /> <br /> <br />NEBRASKA <br /> <br /> <br />To promote the most efficient and beneficial development, management, and <br /> <br />utilization of the State's land, water, mineral, oil, timber, and other natural <br />resources. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA <br />North Dakota's Interim State Water Resources Development Plan, which was <br /> <br /> <br />published in 1968, is now being updated. It is the goal of the North Dakota <br /> <br /> <br />Water Commission to have the Missouri River Basin Commission CCJP regional <br /> <br /> <br />planning process integrated into North Dakota's water planning process where <br /> <br />possible. Regional river basin planning is an essential facet of the State's <br /> <br />comprehensive planning system.
