<br />, 00059S <br /> <br />TRANSPORTATION <br /> <br />COLORADO <br /> <br />Colorado policy and planning objectives concerning slurry pipelines is <br /> <br />that the State shall experience no net loss of water in slurry pipeline <br /> <br />operations. <br /> <br />IOWA <br /> <br />Iowa should continue to depend on the Federal Government to finance the <br /> <br />maintenance of navigation on the Missouri River. <br /> <br />KANSAS <br />. <br /> <br />NaVigation on the lower reach of the Kansas River is not controlled by <br /> <br />Federal reservoir operations. Port development is under local regulation. <br /> <br />MINNESOTA <br /> <br />No Minnesota planning objectives applicable to the Missouri Basin. <br /> <br />MISSOURI <br /> <br />Missouri's policy is to develop and promote the appropriate use of <br /> <br />navigable waterways, including development of ports. <br /> <br />MONTANA <br /> <br />The use of water for coal slurry is not a beneficial use. <br /> <br />NEBRASKA <br /> <br />TO provide the most efficient and economical transportation systems for <br /> <br />maximum public benefit. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />Water transportation other than for purposes of recreation is nonexistent <br /> <br />in North Dakota at this time. The State neither maintains flows or channels <br /> <br />for purposes of navigation. <br /> <br />The State has no definitive policy regarding the use of water for slurry <br /> <br />pipelines. <br /> <br />G-45 <br />
