By <br /> <br />promoting the protection and appropriate utilization of existing and proposed <br />waters, the state can provide a more wholesome recreational, social, and <br /> <br /> <br />environmental experience for the people and visitors of the state of South <br /> <br /> <br />Dakota. Water resources should be managed to provide fish and wildlife habitat <br /> <br /> <br />to meet fishing, hunting, and other public demands for water-based recreational <br /> <br /> <br />opportunities. <br /> <br />WYOMING <br />In areas where water resource developments are made, advantage shall be <br />taken to concurrently develop water-oriented recreation potentials. The <br />presence of streams, lakes, and reservoirs create opportunities for recreation <br />which need to be developed and maintained in order that the greatest benefit <br /> <br /> <br />can be realized from their use. The expanding population resulting from energy <br /> <br /> <br />related and natural resource development activities is creating added burdens <br /> <br /> <br />and pressures on available recreation possibilities. Therefore, it is <br /> <br /> <br />essential that advantage be taken of all feasible expansion of such facilities <br />and that new recreational opportunities be developed. <br /> <br />G-44 <br />
