<br />November 9,1999, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and <br />November to, 1999, in Pagosa Springs, Colorado); <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Identify stakeholders and interested members of the public, agencies and other parties; <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />Develop and maintain a mailing list of these stakeholders and interested parties; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Prepare and distribute newsletters to inform the public of project progress, approximately <br />every six months; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Prepare and distribute news releases to inform the public of activities, as follows: at time of <br />Notice of Intent; 2.3 weeks prior to scoping meetings; when DEIS is available; when <br />hearings are scheduled; when FEIS/ROD are issued; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Prepare and publish Notices of Availability, and distribute the DEIS and FEIS; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Conduct at least one public hearing to solicit public input on the DEIS; and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Maintain information on the Reclamation public website (www,uc,usbr.gov) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Develop and maintain informal contacts with key stakeholders and interest groups <br /> <br />Public Scoping <br /> <br />As stated earlier, public scoping meetings were held in Farmington, New Mexico: <br />Albuquerque, New Mexico; Durango, Colorado; and Pagosa Springs, Colorado for the purpose of <br />obtaining public input on the significant issues related to the proposed action (November, 1999), <br />The public was asked to provide input on the following two areas: <br /> <br />I, Identification of relevant issues related to the proposed action, <br />2, Whether the overall range of alternatives is appropriate, <br /> <br />A preliminary draft EIS (PDEIS) will be prepared for review by Reclamation and the <br />cooperating agencies, <br /> <br />After responding to comments and making appropriate changes. a DEIS will be prepared and <br />made available to the public and interested agencies, Supporting appendices will be prepared and <br />made available as part of the DEIS, <br /> <br />Once the public review has been completed, a draft response to comments will be prepared <br />and draft text changes will be made to the DEIS, A preliminary final EIS (PFEIS) will be prepared <br />and distributed for review by the cooperating agencies, with text changes highlighted to show <br /> <br />l5 <br /> <br />01284 <br />
