30 REPORT OF COLORADO RIVER COMMISSION OF NEVADA 538.100 Compensation, expenses of commissioners, employees. 1. Each commissioner, except the director or the -state dcpart~ ment of conservation and natural resources, shall receive as com- pensation $25 for each day actually employ cd on the work of the commission. Each commissioner and employee of the commission shall be allowed the per cliem expense allowance and travel expenses as provided by law. 2. 'l'hc secretary shall certify all bills and claims for per diem expense allowances and travel expenses or the commissioners and employees, and shall file the same with the state board of examiners for its action. Such bills and claims shall be paid from the Oolorado River commission lund. Within a reasona.ble time after the appointment 01 the com- missioners, th e commission shall meet upon the call or the director or the state department of: conservation and natural resources and effect an organization. 2. At the first meeting of the commission in 1966, and at the first meeting of the commission in each calendar year thereafter, the commission shall select officers for the' ensuing calendar year consist- ing of a chairman, vice chairman and secretary. The secretary may or may not be a. member of the commission, and his compensation shall be fixed by the commission. The commissioners. shall meet at such times and in such place.s as shall he dcsignated by the chairman; bnt a majority of thc com. missioners may call a meeting of the commission at any time and place designated by them in a writ.ten notice thereof given all com- missioners as provided in this subsection. Notice of all meetings shall be given to each commissioner by the secretary, or otherwise, at least 5 days before ea.eh meeting. AllY such notice may be waived by a commissioner or commissioners in writing. 2. A majority of the commissioners shall constitnte a quorum for the transaction or business. 'l'he commission shall have the power to employ such assist- ants and employecs as may be absolntely necessary to carry the pur. poscs of NRS 538.040 to 538.260, inclusive, into effect. Such assistants and cmployees shall receive reasonable salaries, to be fixed by the commission, and shall have such duties as may be prescribed by the commission. [Part 9:71:1935; A 1951, 235]
