Metropolitan Water Supply Investigations - Phase II Plan of Study
7/5/94 4:17 PM

Page 21

c) Output

An initial portrayal of existing water marketing opportunities along with a
design document for market bulletin board development including data
display, access and updating capabilities.

d) Sub-Task Leader: Jim Brannon

14. Sub-task 4n: Inventory of Available Tools

a) Purpose
Determine the availability and suitability of existing models and other
analytical tools for addressing questions related to hydrology, water rights
systems operations and yield that arise during the course of the project.

b) tipproach
Conduct an in-depth review of existing models including Denver's BESTSYM
model, the South Platte Water Rights Administration Model and other relevant
models made available to the Project. Assess issues of geographic coverage,
time step, study period, flexibility, comprehensiveness, user interface,
portability .

c) - Output

A task memorandum listing models reviewed, their respective characteristics,
and their relative suitability for the Project's modeling needs.

d) Sub-Task Leader: Lee Rozaklis

B. Task 5: Initial Identification of Options

Overview: Using the results of Task 4 activities, the consultant team along with the
TAC will initially identify and generally formulate cooperative water supply options
for further investigation and detailed analysis and evaluation. This will be
accomplished through five sub-tasks. Sub-tasks Sa through 5d will address each of
the four identified Phase II focus areas while sub-task 5e will provide a screening
function. Work under this task will be based on the results of task 4 and will not
involve any significant modeling analyses.

Task Leader: Lee Rozaklis
