Metropolitan Water Supply Investigations - Phase II Plan of Study
7/5/944:17PM

Page 20

Investigate the availability of existing GIS coverages for study area. Ideally, the
"map" will be in a computer Geographic Information System (GIS) format so as
to facilitate easy modification. A GIS system would also be particularly useful
for "brainstorming" as it would allow the display of different combinations
water supply and geographic features.

Investigate the availability of existing maps developed by Denver Water during
the preparation of the Metropolitan Denver Water Supply EIS and maps that
may be available through other water supply agencies.

Meet with the Systems Integration Work Group to review existing maps and
develop a preliminary list of feature and areas to be included.

Depending upon the availability of GIS coverages and other maps, determine
the most cost effective and expedient method for developing a "map" or maps
for use in "brainstorming" meetings.

c) Output
The work product will include a map or maps as described above and a task
memorandum to document the map development process and the underlying
rationale.

d) Sub-Task Leader: Robert Weaver

13. Sub-Task 4m: Water Market Bulletin Board

a) Purpose
To design an improved capability for individual water suppliers to be aware of
lease or purchase opportunities for water supplies, augmentation credits,
excess facilities capacity, etc., and to stare their needs in these areas.

b) l1pproach
Poll individual water suppliers regarding their market interests or needs.
Incorporate into an initial portrayal of existing water marketing opportunities.
Get design feedback from suppliers regarding display of market bulletin board
information and individual access capabilities.
