Phase I work will culminate in a Phase I Report as described in section 5.4. 4.3 Phase II Work Phase II work will focus on evaluating and preparing reports on the feasibility of the selected plan or plans identified during the Phase I studies. Phase II work requirements will depend on the components of the selected plan and whether the plan is nonstructural or structural in nature. If the plan involves engineering structures, the contractor will compile engineering design data as described in section 6, and also may prepare designs and estimates as described in section 7.- Progress and technical report requirements are described in section 6~2.3 and will culminate the contractor's Phase II activities. 4.4 Summary of Key Events and Activities A summary chart illustrating the key Phase I events (detailed in section 5) is attached at the end of the Work Statement (see Appendix 5). Also attached is a list of reports and a list of meetings required in Phase I (see Appendix 2). 4.5 Response No response is required for section 4. 5. STATEMENT OF WORK, PHASE I INVESTIGATIONS Phase I will consist of problem identification, quantification, and verifying activities; identification of alternative plans to resolve the problem; and the preparation of appraisal designs and cost estimates, and environmental assessments. ~.l Definition of Days All reference to days in this contract mean Calendar Days. 5.2 Problem Identification, Quantification, and Verifying Activities 5.2.1 Problem Identification and Quantification Based on existing data (see section 3.1.1 above), the contractor will within 125 days after award of this contract submit to Water and Power a report as described in section 5.4.1 containing the con- tractor's initial hypothesis that describes the physical and chemical pro- cesses at work in the Glenwood-Dotsero Springs area.
