<br /> <br />OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br />1 Permit Program. The San Francisco District has issued, or is <br />i~ the process of issuing som~ 11 pennits for landfills o~ marinas. <br />Environmental statements are 1n various stages of complet10n. <br /> <br />ADVANCED ENGINEERING AND DESIGN PROGRAM <br /> <br />1. Wildcat & San Pablo Creeks. Phase II AE&D studies are proceeding <br />on schedule and no significant delays are anticipated. <br /> <br />2. JohnF. Baldwin Ship Channel. A report of study accomplishments <br />and remaining needs, "San Francisco Bay to Stockton, California <br />Project (San Francisco Bay to Poi,nt Edith Region) - Environmental <br />Economic Status Report" was furnished to the Contra Costa County <br />Board of Supervisors, the local project sponsor. The County has <br />deferred action on the report until a workshop meeting can be <br />accomplished. A contract has been awarded for installation of <br />sensors and automatic data collection of critical salinity test <br />stations in the San Francisco Bay Delta Collection Model to <br />expedite the continuing testing programs for the Delta Environmental <br />Study and John F. Baldwin Ship Channel. <br /> <br />3. ' Corte Madera Creek. The Ross Town Council unanimously approved <br />a plan for completion of the project at a special Town Council <br />meeting held on 25 May 1978. A draft Supplemental Design Memorandum <br />and pre-draft Revised Environmental Statement was completed and <br />sent to the South Pacific Division for review on 18 October 1978. <br />Public release of these documents for review is scheduled for <br />1 February 1979. <br /> <br />4. Adobe Dam, Arizona. Phase U studies are underway and if funds <br />are made available, construction could be initiated in FY 1980. <br /> <br />5. ~$ville Lake. A preliminary Phase I GDM and a draft EIS <br />for tneMarysville Lake Project at the Parks Bar site have ,been <br />completed and circulated for review. The State of California <br />recommended that plan not be implemented because they believe the <br />pumped-storage project would not be economically feasible and would <br />cause serious adverse environmental impacts. The Federal Energy <br />Regulatory Commission (FERC) has recently updated the project power <br />values to current price levels and has reevaluated the need for <br />peaking power to be generated by the project. Reanalysis is under- <br />way to evaluate the project with ,the current FERC power data. At <br />the same time, several alternatives are being reviewed for economic <br />feasibi 1 ity under current conditi ons, as reques ted by the Resources <br />Agency. <br /> <br />c-40 <br />
