<br />002888 <br /> <br />CALIFORNIA: Central Sonoma (Sonoma County) <br /> <br />Preparation of preliminary designs on Spring Creek continued. <br />A public meeting to review alternatives for Mantanzas Creek <br />was held in late June. <br /> <br />Lower and Upper Llagas Creek (Santa Clara County) <br /> <br />A revised draft of the EIS was prepared for review within the <br />SCS and by the sponsors. <br /> <br />Lower Pine Creek (Contra Costa County) <br /> <br />The revised plan was approved by the County Board of Super- <br />visors. The new plan proposes a detention basin just below <br />the confluence of Arroyo del Cerro and Pine Creek. Prepara- <br />tion of a work plan supplement to document the change was <br />begun. <br /> <br />San Miguelito Subwatershed, Santa Ynez River Flood Prevention <br />Project (Santa Barbara County) <br /> <br />The draft EIS was distributed for interagency review. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous <br /> <br />Eight of the 22 projects authorized for operations have been <br />completed and another is in the process of being deauthorized. <br />Two projects have completed structural measures, but accelerated <br />land treatment remains active. Of the remaining 11 projects, <br />six are under construction; and five are temporarily inactive <br />waiting on work plan supplements and environmental impact <br />statements. The final construction contract on two projects <br />will be let in fiscal year 1979. <br /> <br />EMERGENCY WATERSHED PROTECTION (SECTION 216) <br /> <br />CALIFORNIA: 1977 Fires <br /> <br />Two major fires resulted in emergency work totalling about <br />$2.5 million. All seeding of burned areas, channel clearing, <br />and bank stabilization work has been completed. One contract <br />for a large debris basin will be let in early 1979. <br /> <br />C-31 <br /> <br />
