<br />002887 <br /> <br />St. David Watershed <br /> <br /> <br />Some field investigations for planning have been completed. <br />A contract has been let for aerial mapping and survey work. <br />These surveys were started in October 197B. <br /> <br />Dos Cabezas Watershed <br /> <br />Some field investigations have been made. Bids were obtained <br />for aerial mapping and surveys. A low bid of $67,000 was <br />granted December 1978. <br /> <br />Payson Watershed <br /> <br />Work has continued on determination of potentials for solving <br />flood problems in this watershed. A first draft of the field <br />reconnaissance report is being reviewed by the watershed staff. <br /> <br />CALIFORNIA: Frazier-Strathmore Watershed (Tulare County) <br />Acquisition of topographic data was begun. <br /> <br />Potter Creek (San Joaquin County) <br /> <br />The sponsors are working on the engineering portions of a <br />field examination. The SCS furnished a geologic report on <br />channel soils and permissible velocity data. <br /> <br />Tehachapi Watershed (Kern County) <br /> <br />Comments on the draft plan and EIS were received and revisions <br />made. <br /> <br />Willow Slough Watershed (Yolo County) <br /> <br />Studies are being conducted to determine feasibility of flood <br />prevention measures in the Winters area. The results will be <br />presented to the sponsors in January 1979. <br /> <br />Field Reviews of Potential Projects <br /> <br />A number of potential sponsors requested field reviews to <br />determine if PL-566 could provide a suitable solution to their <br />problems. Areas reviewed included the following: <br /> <br />Lower Silver Creek, Santa Clara County <br />Salado Creek, Stanislaus County <br />Picacho and Unnamed Washes, Imperial County <br />Newhall Creek, Los Angeles County <br />Placerita Creek, Los Angeles County <br />Mint Canyon, Los Angeles County <br />Sand Canyon, Los Angeles County <br />San Martinez-Chiquito Canyon, Los Angeles County <br />Mockingbird Canyon, Riverside County <br /> <br />C-29 <br />
