WYOMING ARIZONA Uintah Basin Salinity Study Because of the lag in the Bureau of Reclamation's schedule for comp1eting planning on the conveyance system improvements, the USDA report will be distributed as an interim document. This will be done about March I, 1979. It is still hoped that a combined report can be developed covering all phases of salinity reduction programs for the Uintah Basin. Price and San Rafael Rivers Salinity Study Gathering of field data of this data has begun. completed in May 1981. is nearing completion. Some analysis The USDA study is scheduled to be Green River Basin The main report for the USDA Green River Basin Cooperative Study has been completed and is presently undergoing final printing and binding. Distribution of this report will be made shortly after January 1, 1979. Big Sandy Salinity Study Work is continuing on the Big Sandy Salinity Study as a part of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Program. On-farm inventories have been completed and water and salt budgets for the present condition have been prepared. Information meetings have been held with local sponsors and state and Federal agency personnel, to review findings and discuss alternatives that need to be considered for reducing salinity to the Colorado River system. Preliminary alternative plans have been evaluated and reviewed by the coordinating committee. WATERSHED PLANNING Cottonwood Wash Watershed The Navajo County Board approved sponsorship of recreation storage in the reservoir at a meeting on August 7, 1978. This decision clears the way for completing planning on this proj ect. Lower Queen Creek Watershed The preliminary draft watershed plan and environmental impact statement have been reviewed by the staff and are currently undergoing informal interagency review, Comments are due December 29, 1978. The plan and EIS will be submitted for WTSC review about February 1, 1979. c-28
