002'886 COLORADO NEVADA Cooperative Studies Cooperative river basin reports have been completed for all the basins in the Colorado River drainage. Salinity Studies Grand Valley--Implementation of On-farm Salinity Control project is underway. Current appropriations include $1,772,000 in ACP funds for cost-sharing. Priority is being given to farms in the Reed Wash area. Lower Gunnison Basin--Alternative plans are being developed for the On-farm Salinity Control. Inventory and evaluation of Wetland habitats completed. The Wetland inventory identi- fied the source of water for each Wetland area. McElmo Creek--Data collection was started in October. An inventory of 10 percent of the farms is planned. Coordination with the Bureau of Reclamation is being carried out through the MOP team process. Colorado River Basin Salinity Study--Virgin River Unit The Plan of Study was revised and detailed schedules prepared for items to be completed during fiscal year 1979. Major emphasis is being given to this study during fiscal year 1979 in Nevada. Virgin River Cooperative River Basin Study Identification and concurrence by the states of Arizona, Nevada and Utah problems to be studied is pending. Feasibil- ity of retaining the study is to be reassessed early in 1979. NEW MEXICO: Lower Colorado Basin UTAH Information and data continue to be developed for the New Mexico portion of the Little Colorado River Basin Report. A Recreation Working paper has been completed and a draft Flooding Working paper is underway. Bear River Basin This study has been completed. The summary report is being typed for final printing and should be distributed about February I, 1979. C-27
